Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect
nursing home abuse, bedsores, pressure sores

Patients in nursing homes do not always receive the proper care and attention they are entitled to. As a result, patients fall, get injured, mistreated, abused, neglected and the nursing home may be directly responsible. Nursing homes also have a legal obligation to prevent and treat bedsores, also known as pressure sores, pressure ulcers, or decubitus ulcers as they can result in terrible scarring, amputation, even death. A Stage IV bedsore is the deepest and most serious stage. Unfortunately, due to under staffing, inexperienced help and failure to follow preventative protocol, bedridden patients will develop bedsores and the Nursing homes are accountable.

Nursing home patients are protected by New York State and Federal Laws. If you or a loved one have sustained an injury at a nursing home, contact Gassler & O’Rourke, we can help.
